Conference openers highlight schedule

It’s the opening night of conference play this Friday for area football teams.

Kokomo begins defense of its North Central Conference title when it hosts Anderson at Walter Cross Stadium. Last season, the Kats won the NCC title outright with a 7-0 record.

Other key matchups Friday find a pair of Mid-Indiana Conference unbeatens battling when Taylor travels to Class 3A No. 7 Western. Northwestern, also 2-0, will be tested when MIC foe and Class 2A No. 10 Cass pays a visit.
