IHSAA sets pairings for girls sectionals

The IHSAA on Sunday drew pairings for the 39th annual girls basketball state tournament. A total of 402 schools will play in the tournament.

Sectional games are scheduled to begin Tuesday, Feb. 11 and run through Saturday, Feb. 15. The regional round will take place on Feb. 22 and semistate games will follow on March 1. The four state championship games are set for March 8 at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute.

The following are pairings for sectionals involving KT-area teams.

G2: Logansport (16-2) vs. McCutcheon (10-10)

G3: Kokomo (10-7) vs. G1 winner

G4: Harrison (6-12) vs. G2 winner

Schedule is packed for final week of girls season

The final week of the girls basketball season is packed full of games. Now, Mother Nature just needs to cooperate and allow a week without postponements and cancellations.

Tonight, Class 3A No. 7-ranked Western will travel to Cass in search of an undefeated Mid-Indiana Conference championship. Western is 15-2 overall and 6-0 in league play.
