The Comets made the most of their eight shots on goal, building a 2-0 lead by intermission before adding a pair of insurance goals in the second half.
Dillon Ryan led Eastern (8-3, 4-1 MIC) in the road victory with three goals and Ben Cole added a goal, while Dalton Ryan and Darren Bellow added assists. Delon Tuggle had 10 saves in goal for the Comets.
“Hamilton Heights is a very tough opponent and one of those teams we have marked on the schedule, being an MIC opponent,” Eastern coach John VanMatre said. “They like to play physical and fast, and it was a track meet. We got some nice ball through to score some goals. We only had eight shots on goal so it was nice to make the most of our opportunities. It was nice to come over here and got a win finally.”
John VanMatre also lauded the defensive efforts of Joshua Sommers and Lucas VanMatre, adding Lucas VanMatre made a defensive save that kept Heights from adding a goal.
TRI-CENTRAL 2, TAYLOR 0
Jake Kimbrough and Dalton Davis scored the goals in the Trojans’ 2-0 victory with Garret Dick and Dylan Stevens providing the assists.
TC ‘keeper Jordan Thurston had three saves.
Northwestern 2, Twin Lakes 1
Kaitlyn Daanen and Korey Price fired in a goal apiece to lead the Purple Tigers past the visiting Indians.
Northwestern coach Samantha Elkins pointed to her squad’s possession as a key to the win.
“They’re really learning how to possess in the attack and that’s really going to help them, I think, as we go along,” she said.

The Titans fell at home on a goal midway through the second half. Lydia Owens had five saves for the Titans (2-10-1), who dropped a 1-0 decision for the second straight day.
