No. 8 Blue Devils impose their will at Twin Lakes

Tipton opens up 34-0 lead in Hoosier Conference victory.

Twin Lakes put together a drive, advancing to the Blue Devil 15 before turning the ball over on downs on a bad snap on fourth down.

Tipton took over at its 20 and advances the ball inside the Indians 35 but Hooker’s fourth down pass fell incomplete and TL took over at its 34.

The Indians went back on the move and thanks to a 22-yard run by Cameron Bennington and a 17-yard run by Avery Randle had a first down at the Tipton 17.

On Randle’s run Dell came out of the gridlock with the ball and was sprinting towards the end zone when the whistle sounded but the officials ruled forward progress had stopped. It didn’t matter as on the very next play, Twin Lakes’ Michael Griffin was separated from the ball by a pair of Blue Devils and Hein recovered at his own 20.

Tipton needed three plays to go 80 yards. Dell rushed for 11 yards. Hooker then completed a 29-yard pass to Overdorf before connecting with a wide open Devendorf on a 40-yard hitch and go route for a 21-0 lead with 3:34 left in the first half.

Hooker was 13 of 20 for 200 yards and 2 TDs in the first half. He finished 14 of 23 for 227 yards and 2 TDs.

On Tipton’s first possession after halftime, Hooker gained 15 yards on a QB keeper. Dell did the rest. He ripped off a 20-yard run before following fullback Hein through a big hole on his way to a 29-yard TD run for a 27-0 Tipton lead.

On Tipton’s final scoring drive, Hein ran for two yards before Hooker found Overdorf for 27 yards. Devendorf the ran in from the 6 for a 34-0 lead with 2:10 left in the third quarter.

Dell passed the 100-yard mark finishing with 107 yards and a TD on 10 carries. He also caught two passes for 17 yards. Hein added 77 yards on 11 carries.

Devendorf caught four passes for 94 yards and two TDs and added 25 yards rushing on four carries. Overdorf had three receptions for 69 yards and Friend four catches for 43 yards.

It was easy to tell as a red rash covered her arms and her face was painfully swollen. She is one of those people who loves being outdoors yet highly allergic to the common plant. Sometimes I believe she can get the rash by simply looking at the noxious weed.
