HOLL. LUMBER (R) 4, MCGAVIC (TSE) 3, 7 INNINGS
Russiaville regular-season champion Hollingsworth Lumber rallied to beat McGavic Outdoor Power 4-3 in an extra inning at Eastside.
The Lumber boys tied the game in the bottom of the sixth when Nathaniel Liddell scored on a passed ball. Then in the seventh, leadoff hitter Josh Rush was hit by a pitch and Luke Hopwood hit a double to put runners on second and third. After McGavic cut down a runner at the plate on a fielder’s choice for the first out of the inning, Payton Irwin put down a perfect bunt single to load the bases. Liddell then hit a deep sacrifice fly to score Hopwood for the walk-off win.
Hopwood finished with two doubles. Also for Hollingsworth, Luke Lechner had a double and a single and Cullen Dalpoas and Alex Jackson had two singles apiece. Liddell was the winning pitcher.
Jake Isaacs smacked a homer for McGavic. Logan Bass took the loss.
MARTIN BROTHERS (R) 5, WHITE’S MEAT (TSE) 3
Daniel Wright threw all six innings to get the win for for Martin Brothers (13-10) in Greentown. He allowed four hits and struck out nine to pitch the Russiaville squad into the semifinals.
Alex Kirk doubled, singled twice and knocked in two runs to lead Martin Brothers. Rylan Morgan added a run-scoring single.
For Taylor Southeast champion White’s Meat Market, Richard Taper drove in a run with a single. Matt Harrison took the loss.
