Howard Co. physicals are May 14 at KHS
Kokomo High School will host the 2014 Howard County free physicals from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on May 14.
The free physicals are offered to male and female student-athletes on Eastern, Kokomo, Northwestern, Taylor, Western and Sts. Joan of Arc/Patrick schools who currently are enrolled in eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th grades and have an interest in participating in their respective high school athletic programs during the 2014-15 school year.
Prior to May 14, students must pick up the IHSAA physical form from their respective athletic director, complete the information requested and have the parent and student signatures completed. Students will not be permitted to participate in the free physicals if the forms are not correctly completed.
Community Howard Regional Health’s cardiovascular lab is offering free ultrasound screening during the free physical night. The screening is optional for the student-athlete. Those wishing to participate must sign a consent form, which will be attached to the IHSAA physical form, and must be completed prior to the physical.
Any questions regarding the physicals or screening should be directed to your respective athletic director.
Last year, nearly 1,000 student-athletes received a free physical at the event.
