Kat hoops programs plan golf outing

The Kokomo Wildkat boys and girls basketball programs will hold their annual golf outing on Sept. 22 at Chippendale G.C. The entry fee is $40 per player if a Chippendale member and $60 per player if not a member.

A captain’s choice format is planned with four players per team. A shotgun start is planned for 1:30 p.m. Following the tournament, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be provided in the clubhouse.

Trophies will be awarded for lowest team score, longest drive (male and female) and closest to the pin (male and female). Each golfer will receive complimentary prizes donated by sponsors. In addition, there will be a hole-in-one contest with chance to win a Carnival cruise or airline tickets.

ShuckStrong golf outing set for Sept. 28

The ShuckStrong Golf Outing to benefit Craig Shuck’s battle with Melanoma is scheduled for Sept. 28 at Green Acres G.C. Shuck is a 2003 Northwestern High School graduate. He was a Kokomo Tribune All-Area basketball player.

The entry fee is $200 per four-person team, or $50 per individual. Individuals will be placed on teams.

Organizers are looking for hole sponsors ($100) and also for items for prizes and for use in a silent auction. Those interested in helping should contact Wes Blankenberger at 765-210-5476 or weston_lee1@yahoo.com or Courtney Goff at 765-860-2960.

Humphreys take win in Indiana PGA event

INDIANAPOLIS — Chippendale Golf Club’s Jim Humphrey and Bill Humphrey fired a team best ball of 11-under-par 60 to win the E-Z-GO Indiana PGA Pro-President/Pro-Super last week at Meridian Hills CC. Their round consisted of 10 birdies, an eagle and just two bogeys.

They beat the runner-up team by two strokes. There were 66 teams in the field.
