TRENT: Bowling column

Kokomo Tribune

---- — The seniors’ bowling tourna-ment is a go with 17 entries. If you entered, then you will be bowling at the time for which you signed up unless you receive a call from tournament manager Gary Exmeyer. Don’t forget this tournament is being held at Don Lowry Lanes.

The following are some other bowling notes:

• The Indiana State USBC Bowling Association has announced the 2015 tournament sites. The open tournament is set for the Indy Association at Western Bowl. Masters and seniors will bowl in Anderson at Cooper’s Sport Bowl. Indiana Scratch Classic is set for Lafayette at Arrowhead. So keep these in mind and plan ahead, way ahead.

• Black Friday shopping may not be your thing. How about cyber shopping? Did you try that this year and plan on doing nothing on Friday after Thanksgiving? Well, how about bowling? It’s a sport you love and something you can do with friends and have a good time. Kokomo Sport Bowl is having a 9-pin no-tap doubles tournament. The cost is $40 per doubles and the times are 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. That way all that turkey dinner can settle and digest before you have to bowl. You might want to call and make a reservation. So find you a partner and more friends to bowl with and plan an after-turkey party. Just think, it’s better than shopping!

• Hall of fame nomination forms are in the centers. If you feel you know someone who should be nominated, please fill out a form. When filling out the form, provide as much information as possible and fill out the form correctly. Please print or type the form so it can be read. The more information there is, the better it is for the candidate.

• Don Lowry Lanes, the Strike Shop and Kokomo Sport Bowl are sponsoring a Global 900 event on Nov. 30. This event will be held at Kokomo Sport Bowl from noon to 3 p.m. and will include seminars and bowling on different oil patterns and instruction.

PIN NOTES

Bob Dockmeyer bowled a 300 game on Oct. 21. Great game!
