Sports briefs for Friday, Jan. 24

“Where they made 20 free throws, and we made only five, that was the difference in the game. We also had fewer turnovers with 12 to McCutcehon’s 15, and we outscored them on their bench seven to three on the bench. Those are the other two big stats that we look at. Overall, I was pleased with the way the girls battled back, and outplayed McCutcheon for three quarters.”

McCutcheon jumped out to a 16-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Kokomo cut McCutcheon’s lead to 23-19 at halftime, and the Wildkats took over in the third quarter, out scoring McCutcheon 16-10. Kokomo led 35-33 at end of the third quarter.

Alanis Jones led Kokomo with 17 points and Jasmine Love added 13. McCutcheon was led by Kerstyn Lowery with 15 points.
