Western falls in Plymouth title game
PLYMOUTH — Western lost 2-0 to Mishawaka in the championship game of the Plymouth Invitational on Monday. The Cavemen scored twice in the opening 20 minutes of the first half and were able to hold Western (4-1-1) at bay the rest of the way for the title. Western goalie Edgar Sanchez had six saves.
”We just came out a little bit flat,” Western coach Mike Roe said. “They jumped right on pretty quickly. It wasn’t anything particular that they did, we just got caught standing and watching for the first 15 or 20 minutes of the game. [After that] all we could do was play and see if we could put the ball in the net. They did a nice job of bunkering in and keeping us out and making us take some low-quality shots.”
