Westfield police eye home invasion in deaths of 2 women

Westfield — Police say a woman and her adult daughter found dead in their suburban Indianapolis home were apparently slain during a home-invasion robbery.

Westfield police believe someone tried to rob the Westfield home of 52-year-old Marylyn Erb and her 23-year-old daughter, Kelley Erb. The mother and daughter were found dead Friday evening in their home from blunt force trauma injuries.

WTHR-TV reports investigators say the home-invasion robbery and murders occurred during the midday hours on Friday.

Police on Sunday released photos from store surveillance footage of a man they call a "person of interest" in the killings. Police are asking for the public's help in identifying that man.

Officers say a 2011 Buick Enclave taken from the women's home was found a short distance from the home.
