    Kyle Zahn, hired Monday night as boys varsity basketball coach at Tri-Central High School, figures to log a couple of firsts when the Trojans open their season at Tipton on Nov. 25.

  • PREP ROUNDUP: Kats beat Tigers in extra frame
    Kokomo topped Northwestern 2-1 in eight innings Thursday in a softball game that featured a pitching duel.
    Kokomo senior Elizabeth Wagner earned the win with a complete-game gem that included 15 strikeouts. She allowed just three hits, two walks and no earned runs.

  • HOOPS: Foreman shoots Cass over TC in double-OT
    WALTON — In a battle between two boys basketball teams hungry for a victory here Friday night, Lewis Cass junior guard Damon Foreman netted five quick points to open the second overtime period and the host Kings finally outlasted the visiting Tri-Central Trojans by a final count of 46-44.

    Strong doubles play helped Taylor down visiting Carroll 4-1 in a boys tennis match Monday.
    Matt Petty and Reomey Northington rolled to a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles and Tim Simmons and Cody Hinton took a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
