— Matthew Ryan Simpson and Melissa Lee Blackburn were married at 2:30 p.m. March 1, 2008, at McGrawsville United Methodist Church, Amboy, by pastors Kenny Cole and Mark Hill.
Matthew is the son and stepson of Darl and Toni Simpson, Lafayette, and the late Barbara Hobbs. He graduated from Harrison High School in 2001 and Indiana University in 2007. He served in the Army National Guard from 2002 to 2007 and is employed at Western Southern Life Insurance.
Melissa is the daughter of Roger and Rhonda Blackburn, Peru. She graduated from Maconaquah High School in 1999 and from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2003. She is attending Indiana Wesleyan working on a master’s degree in counseling. She is employed at Child and Family Partners.
Bridesmaids were Kristina Yoder and Andrea Robinson, friends, and Charity Browning, future sister-in-law of bride; groomsmen were Nick Anker and Dustin Anker, friends, and Chris Blackburn, brother of bride; and ushers were Brian Wright, friend, and Nick Friend, nephew of groom.
After a wedding trip to Nashville, Tenn., the couple resides in Lafayette.
