INDIANAPOLIS — An additional 1,104 Indiana residents have tested positive for COVID-19, state health authorities said Saturday.

Nine more people have died of the virus, bringing the statewide total to 3,278 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 110,759 positive confirmed tests for COVID-19 have been reported.

The Indiana Department of Health this week listed the counties containing Indiana and Ball State universities as the highest-risk locations for coronavirus infections.

Monroe County, which includes the main Indiana University campus in Bloomington, and Delaware County, which includes Ball State in Muncie, on Saturday remained the only two counties with the health department's orange rating for moderate to high coronavirus spread.

Seven counties had that rating last week. No counties were listed with the highest-risk red rating in either week.

State health commissioner Dr. Kristina Box has said the ratings for Monroe and Delaware counties are connected to congregate living settings and large-scale university testing.
