Blight Elimination

Jody Boyd uses a hose to wet down the remaining dust and insulation at 614 N. Delphos St. to prevent it from clouding up as the construction crew tear down the structure Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

The city of Kokomo is again targeting blighted properties.

The Kokomo Board of Public Works and Safety on Wednesday approved plans and specifications for a new phase of the Blight Elimination Demolition Project, allowing city development officials to advertise for project bids.

The four vacant structures expected to be demolished are located at: 815 W. Monroe St.; 205 W. King St.; 524 S. Wabash Ave.; and 1268 E. 400 South.

Bids for the work, which will be paid through Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund – Blight Elimination Project funding, will be received by the board on Oct. 24.
