TIPTON — State police arrested a Westfield woman Friday on 12 felony charges obtaining prescription drugs by fraud after an ongoing probe in Tipton County.
Troopers accuse Marisue Stout, 48, of calling in fraudulent prescriptions, some which were controlled substances, to a Tipton pharmacy 12 separate times.
The probe began last week when Detective Tony Frawley received a call from the pharmacy reporting several suspicious prescriptions being ordered by phone for a Noblesville doctor’s office.
That led Frawley to Stout, who has prior experience working as a nurse, but is not affiliated with any doctor’s office, according to police.
Police allege the drugs were for Stout’s personal use.
Frawley arrested Stout Friday morning at her Westfield home on the 12 Class D felony charges.
This is an ongoing investigation, Sgt. Tony Slocum reported.
