Van Taylor, executive director of the Kokomo Rescue Mission, sends this Cheer:

“We wish to thank all who participated in this year’s ‘Serve Together Weekend’ Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9. Serve Together Weekend brings together people from many churches within Howard County to work on a variety projects at many locations around the area.

“We at the Mission personally had the privilege of witnessing the volunteers demonstrate their love for God and his people. Some of the Mission’s projects were: assembling bicycles at Open Arms, landscape work, preparations for our Back To School program, and various warehouse projects. Volunteers also served at the Food Tent and the Saturday Carnival, which was provided by various churches involved in the Serve Together Weekend.

“We are so grateful and appreciative of each one who came and selflessly served this weekend.”
