Active and retired police officers who bicycle around Indiana for charity will visit Warsaw next month to honor a Kosciusko County sheriff’s deputy who was killed in the line of duty last year.
Cops Cycling for Indiana COPS will hold a stationary bike ride in front of the Kosciusko County courthouse on June 4 in memory of Sgt. Jeffrey B. Shaw. Shaw died Nov. 12 when his police car collided with a flatbed truck while he was responding to a call.
The event is also a warmup for the annual 13-day ride set for July 26 to Aug. 7. The ride is a fundraiser for Indiana Concerns of Police Survivors, which provides support for families of officers killed in the line of duty.
