Roudebush makes 2A all-state baseball

The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association on Friday announced its 2019 All-State teams.

Tipton catcher K.J. Roudebush made the Class 2A team. He was the only area player to earn a first-team selection. In 22 games played, the Blue Devil senior posted a .523 batting average and a .622 on-base percentage. He belted 12 doubles, two triples and two home runs. He scored 28 runs and drove in 18 runs.

Roudebush’s selection caps a monster senior year for the three-sport standout. In football, he made the Indiana Football Coaches Association’s Class 2A All-State team at quarterback and was the KT’s All-Area MVP. In wrestling, he took third place in the 195-pound weight class at the state meet.

An Indiana All-Star in both football and wrestling, Roudebush is heading to the University of Indianapolis to play football.

Three area baseball players earned honorable mention — Northwestern pitcher Ben Harris and Western pitcher Gavin White in Class 3A and Lewis Cass pitcher Reece Rodabaugh in Class 2A. All three were automatically named to honorable mention after playing in the North-South All-Star Classic last month.
